BELGRADE, 11/14/2013, 2:41:00 PM - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said on Thursday, after receiving a letter of credence from Trevor Donald Matheson, the newly appointed ambassador of New Zealand in Belgrade, it is Serbia's wish to continually improve cooperation with New Zealand in all domains.

"I am glad that we will have an opportunity to contribute together to improving ties and cooperation between the two countries. I am convinced that bilateral relations will develop more successfully in the future, taking into account that there are substantial prospects for that," the Serbian president said.

According to Nikolic, Serbia is committed to EU integration as its priority, but it would also like to foster and develop good relations with all world countries, including New Zealand, which is a home to a big Serb community.

President Nikolic voiced confidence that the dialogue between Serbia and New Zealand will be stepped up even further.

Ambassador Matheson pointed to the decades-long friendship between the two countries, as they established diplomatic relations in 1951.
