The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Australia is announcing that the balance of the dedicated bank account which has been opened in the aim of collecting funds for eliminating the consequences of the floods, on the 30th May at 09.14 AM is as follows: with 376 transactions, the amount of $136,693.55 has been received.

(List of transactions from the period 23th until 30th May can be viewed HERE).

(List of transactions since the account has been opened, 19th May until 23rd May can be viewed HERE).

In the aim of more efficient, but first of all clear procedural and fully transparent continuing activity of collecting funds, we would like to point out the following:

- The Embassy has opened a dedicated bank account at the Commonwealth Bank for collecting funds where donations can be paid in a simple and direct way.

- We would like to underline that the Embassy wishes and strives to achieve the coordination and cooperation with every individual or organisation that are devotedly working on collecting funds, no matter how the collected funds will be forwarded to Serbia. Due to that we would like to ask again all the organisations and individuals who have been collecting, collecting now or intending to collect funds in Australia for eliminating the consequences of the floods in Serbia, to contact us for better mutual awareness and by need better coordination of activities. It is not condition that all the funds go through the Embassy, but we believe that the transparency in collecting funds and transferring the aid to Serbia is beneficial to everyone, in order for everything to be done with mutual trust and to avoid every possible misuse.

- We would like to stress out that no one has the Embassy’s or the Consulate’s authority to open any new or separate accounts in their name in order of collecting funds that would be allegedly afterwards transferred into the Embassy’s account.

- Organisations that are collecting funds from their members or supporters and wish to transfer the funds from their account to the Embassy’s account, as well as the individuals who wish to help massification of the activity of collecting funds, that will be directly paid or transferred to the Embassy’s account, should adequately inform the Embassy or the Consulate-General about it, in order to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding.

The transparency and explicitly clear procedure of collecting donations are of greatest significance   and the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia will in the future abide by these principles for the purpose of complete confidence.

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia and the Consulate-General in Sydney take this opportunity to once again express their sincere gratitude to all the individuals and organisations who have until now taken part in this action and to call upon the continuing mutual activities in the aim of collecting funds that are necessary in eliminating the extremely difficult consequences of the floods in Serbia.
